Godrej Properties Ltd (GPL), a prominent Mumbai-based real estate developer, has announced the outright purchase of a 48-acre land parcel in Doddaballapur, North Bengaluru. Located near the upcoming Satellite Town Ring Road (STRR), the parcel has a development potential of approximately 1.1 million square feet, primarily earmarked for plotted residential development.
Doddaballapur is increasingly emerging as one of Bengaluru’s high-growth corridors, supported by its proximity to key infrastructure including the Kempegowda International Airport, STRR, industrial zones, and the scenic Nandi Hills.
“We are pleased to announce the acquisition of this prime land parcel in Doddaballapur, a high-potential micro-market in North Bengaluru. This investment reinforces our focus on expanding our presence in key growth corridors through well-planned residential communities,” said Gaurav Pandey, MD and CEO of Godrej Properties.
This acquisition comes on the heels of several strategic land purchases by the company across the country. On July 16, Godrej Properties made its entry into Raipur, Chhattisgarh, with the acquisition of approximately 50 acres for a plotted development. In January, it acquired a 24-acre parcel in Indore. Recently, the company also sold over ₹2,000 crore worth of homes in Phase 1 of its Barca project in Devanahalli, Bengaluru, and acquired 16 acres in Upper Kharadi, Pune, with a revenue potential of ₹3,100 crore.
Industry observers note that this latest move aligns with Godrej’s strategy of strengthening its footprint in high-growth suburban locations. Doddaballapur, in particular, is well-positioned for long-term appreciation due to ongoing infrastructure projects and its appeal as a residential destination.
