Bengaluru, June 16, 2025 — Kanakapura Road is getting major upgrades in roads and transport, making it a fast-growing real estate hotspot in South Bengaluru.
Key Projects Underway
A 32 km double-decker flyover is planned along Outer Ring Road, from JP Nagar to Hebbal. The upper deck will carry vehicles, while the lower deck will support the upcoming Metro Phase 3. This project aims to reduce traffic and improve public transport.
The BBMP is also working on a 10 km expressway from Banashankari to NICE Road, using an old pipeline route. This will help avoid Metro-related traffic jams and improve overall flow.
Metro service on the Green Line has already reached areas like Vajarahalli, making the region better connected and boosting home demand.
Property Prices on the Rise
With these infrastructure projects, property prices on Kanakapura Road have gone up by over 60% since 2018. Experts expect another 15% rise in 2025 due to better roads, metro access, and nearby job hubs like Harohalli.
Challenges Ahead
Some residents worry about traffic lane reductions and lack of public consultation. Experts say expressways may shift traffic, not reduce it. Still, officials believe these projects will improve long-term connectivity and support growth.
