New Delhi – The Delhi Development Authority (DDA) has announced plans to auction 118 premium residential plots in Sector D6 of Vasant Kunj, a prime locality in South Delhi. This initiative is part of a broader effort to unlock valuable land parcels and boost independent homeownership opportunities in well-established urban zones.
To prepare for the auction, the DDA has issued a tender to appoint an agency that will demarcate the plots and execute infrastructure development. The estimated cost of this work is around ₹7.5 crore. The infrastructure scope includes roads, stormwater drains, sewerage systems, and water supply, all to be built according to Central Public Works Department (CPWD) and National Green Tribunal (NGT) standards. The agency will have 12 months to complete the project—three months for planning and nine months for execution.
A key focus of the development will be environmental compliance. The DDA has emphasized that tree felling or translocation will be carried out in strict accordance with NGT norms, ensuring minimal ecological disruption during execution.

The initiative also includes enhancements to existing infrastructure in the D6 Mega Housing Complex. A two-level deck parking structure and expanded surface parking will be constructed to address long-standing congestion issues. These additions are expected to benefit residents of the Ganga, Yamuna, Narmada, and Saraswati blocks, covering approximately 1,900 flats.
Once the preparatory work is complete, the 118 residential plots will be auctioned via an online platform. Specific details on plot sizes, pricing, and registration will be announced closer to the auction date.
This move marks a shift in DDA’s traditional housing strategy, which has primarily focused on apartments. By introducing plotted developments in high-demand areas like Vasant Kunj, the DDA is offering greater flexibility for buyers who prefer to construct their own homes.
With its strategic location, proximity to the airport and commercial hubs, and well-developed civic amenities, Vasant Kunj continues to be one of the most desirable residential zones in the capital. The upcoming auction is expected to generate significant interest from both end-users and investors seeking long-term value in Delhi’s real estate market.
