The Indian Institute of Management Bangalore (IIMB) has unveiled plans for its upcoming Undergraduate Campus (Phase I) at Jigani, Anekal, marking a major milestone in the institute’s expansion into undergraduate education. Project Snapshot
The proposed development will span a massive total site area of 42.42 acres, with a built-up area of 13.41 acres. Notably, nearly a quarter of the campus area—10.53 acres (24.84%)—will be reserved as green belt, reinforcing IIMB’s commitment to sustainable and eco-friendly construction.
The project cost is estimated at ₹450 crore, reflecting the scale, quality, and ambition behind the expansion.
Building Infrastructure
The campus will feature a modern, multi-functional design, comprising:
- Main Academic Building – G+6 floors

- Dining & Mess Facility – G+1 floors
- Indoor Sports Stadium – G+1 floors
- MB2 (Performing Arts & Library) – G+5 floors

This configuration is designed to foster a vibrant academic, residential, and extracurricular ecosystem for students.
FAR and Parking
The permissible Floor Area Ratio (FAR) for the project is 1.25, but the achieved FAR stands at 0.351, indicating a low-density, spacious campus design with ample breathing space and open areas.
The campus will include 87 car parking slots, fully meeting the requirement with 87 spaces provided, ensuring convenience for students, staff, and visitors.
A Vision for the Future
Strategically located in Jigani, Anekal Taluk, the new campus site sits within a growing educational and tech corridor in southern Bengaluru. The project represents a forward-looking initiative by IIMB to cater to the undergraduate demand while preserving environmental sensibilities.
Once completed, the campus is expected to become a landmark in India’s higher education infrastructure, blending academic rigor with world-class facilities.
