Bangalore International Airport Limited (BIAL) has formally sought tenders for the second phase of Terminal 2 (T2) expansion at Kempegowda International Airport (BLR). The upcoming development will include a direct connection between Terminal 2 and Terminal 1, enhancing passenger convenience and operational efficiency.
The T2 expansion is set to add 278,000 square meters of additional space and 40 new apron stands, significantly increasing aircraft handling capacity. Once completed, the project will help BLR Airport handle up to ~75 million passengers per annum (MPPA), reinforcing its position as one of India’s busiest aviation hubs.
The initiative underscores ongoing investments in #Aviation infrastructure and highlights BIAL’s commitment to meeting the growing travel demand in the region. The expanded facilities are expected to enhance passenger experience while accommodating increasing domestic and international traffic.
