Bengaluru’s upcoming Blue Line of the Namma Metro, also known as the ORR–Airport Metro, spans 58.19 km and connects Central Silk Board to Kempegowda International Airport via K.R. Puram. The project is being constructed in two phases: Phase 2A (Central Silk Board to K.R. Puram) and Phase 2B (K.R. Puram to the Airport).

As of June 2025, the civil works are 52.5% complete. The entire corridor is targeted for completion by December 2027.

Designed with modern features, the Blue Line will include driverless trains, airport-grade stations (with one ground-level and one partially underground station at the Airport), and luggage-friendly provisions to support air travellers.

The total cost for the project is approximately ₹14,788 crore. Funding is shared by the Union and State governments, land acquisition is funded by Karnataka, and remaining investment will come via loans.

Once operational, the Blue Line is expected to significantly enhance connectivity between Bengaluru’s southern, eastern, and northern suburbs and the airport, potentially easing travel times and reducing road traffic congestion.
