In Kerala’s continuous attempts to fortify its IT infrastructure and investment ecosystem, the Cochin Development Body (CDB) has formally started the land pooling process for the much awaited Infopark Phase III campus. In order to establish a cooperative development model that supports Kochi’s sustainable urban growth and economic progress, the initiative seeks to unite landowners, regional stakeholders, and investors.
In the outskirts of Kakkanad, where Infopark’s first two phases have already laid a solid foundation for Kerala’s IT industry, hundreds of acres will be covered by the land pooling program, authorities say. This success will be further expanded in the third phase, which will provide additional space for startups, technological firms, and related industries. By using a pooling model, the government hopes to reduce the difficulties associated with land acquisition and guarantee equitable benefits and payments for landowners involved in the project.
Locals can directly benefit from Kochi’s swift urban transformation thanks to the land pooling scheme’s inclusive and transparent design. Participants will receive constructed plots and a portion of the revenues after the site is fully incorporated into the Infopark campus design, as an alternative to traditional acquisition. In other areas, this paradigm has worked well for fostering balanced development while upholding collaboration and public trust.
According to CDB authorities, Infopark Phase III would integrate eco-friendly workspaces, smart infrastructure, and renewable energy systems with a focus on sustainable development principles. Major IT and digital service companies are anticipated to be drawn to the new phase once it is finished, creating thousands of job possibilities and stimulating the local economy.
Kerala’s long-term goal of becoming a major force in India’s digital economy is also in line with the initiative. The state is establishing itself as a top location for IT investment in South India by developing infrastructure and promoting innovation-driven sectors. Now that the land pooling process has begun, the foundation for Infopark Phase III signifies not just an increase in the physical area but also a move towards creating a more intelligent and interconnected tech landscape for Kochi in the future.
