In BTM 1st Stage, Bengaluru, the Bangalore Development Authority (BDA) has successfully recovered encroached land worth ₹12.3 crore. The recovered land, which is around 6,629 square feet in size and is situated in Survey No. 50 of Tavarekere village, Begur Hobli, was unlawfully occupied with boundary walls and sheds.
BDA officials claim that the operation was carried out by a special enforcement squad under the direction of the Executive Engineer (South Division) with support from local police. As part of the BDA’s continuous effort to eliminate encroachments on government and BDA-owned properties throughout the city, the unauthorized constructions were dismantled.
In a number of high-value neighborhoods, including BTM Layout, HSR Layout, and Koramangala, where there is still a significant demand for real estate, the authority has stepped up its efforts to prevent land encroachment. These recovery activities, according to officials, are intended to safeguard public assets and guarantee that encroached properties are regained and kept under government control.
To stop more illegal occupation, similar operations would continue in other areas of Bengaluru, according to a senior BDA officer. In order to prevent recurring encroachments, the BDA’s enforcement teams have now been directed to routinely monitor recovered territory.
Land in BTM Layout has a high market value because of its good connection and close proximity to IT hubs, according to property analysts. It is anticipated that the BDA’s rehabilitation initiatives will strengthen public confidence in urban land management and deter future intrusions into desirable areas.
The latest operation demonstrates the BDA’s ongoing dedication to supporting planned urban growth and protecting Bengaluru’s public areas. The authority’s proactive actions also highlight its emphasis on accountability and openness in the administration of the city’s priceless real estate assets.
