The Greater Bengaluru Authority (GBA) has launched a comprehensive initiative aimed at identifying and upgrading the city’s 100 most critical roads. This project seeks to address key infrastructure challenges and enhance the overall urban mobility experience for residents.
Under the leadership of GBA Chief Commissioner Maheshwar Rao, a review meeting was convened with Chief Engineers from all city corporations to identify the top 100 critical roads across Bengaluru. Each Zonal Chief Engineer is tasked with shortlisting 10 key roads based on citizen feedback, focusing on issues such as potholes, footpaths, lighting, flooding, and black spots. This citizen-centric approach ensures that the upgrades align with the needs and concerns of the community.
The initiative aims to implement durable and citizen-focused solutions to improve road safety and accessibility. By prioritizing roads that have the most significant impact on daily commuting and public safety, the GBA intends to create a more efficient and user-friendly urban environment.
The GBA’s initiative to upgrade Bengaluru’s top 100 critical roads marks a significant step towards improving the city’s infrastructure. Through strategic planning and active citizen participation, this project aims to enhance road safety and overall urban mobility, contributing to a more sustainable and livable Bengaluru.
