Starlink, the satellite internet division of SpaceX, has reportedly started hiring in Bengaluru, marking a significant step towards its official launch in India. The company is also expected to establish its India headquarters in Bengaluru, further reinforcing the city’s reputation as a global technology hub.
According to industry sources, Starlink has listed several job openings on professional networking platforms and recruitment portals. These positions include roles in operations, regulatory affairs, and technical infrastructure management — signaling that groundwork for commercial rollout is already underway.
Starlink’s entry into the Indian market follows months of regulatory engagement with the Department of Telecommunications (DoT) and the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO). Once all necessary approvals are finalized, Starlink aims to offer high-speed, low-latency satellite internet across urban and rural regions in India.
The Bengaluru-based headquarters will serve as the company’s main coordination center for nationwide network deployment, customer support, and future research initiatives. Given the city’s deep tech ecosystem and availability of skilled professionals, Bengaluru aligns strategically with Starlink’s expansion goals.
Starlink’s internet services use a constellation of low-earth orbit satellites to deliver connectivity in remote and underserved areas. With over 6,000 satellites already in orbit, the company currently serves more than 3 million users globally.
Industry experts view Starlink’s India launch as a potential game changer for the country’s digital infrastructure, especially in regions where terrestrial broadband remains limited. Once operational, the service could help accelerate digital inclusion and bridge connectivity gaps in rural India.
