The Standard, a leading U.S.-based provider of insurance, retirement, and investment solutions, has announced the launch of its new Global Capability Center (GCC) in India under the name StanCorp Global Services India Private Limited. The new centre will operate from Bengaluru and Pune, strengthening the company’s technology-driven transformation and supporting its long-term global growth strategy.
As part of the launch, around 175 employees have transitioned to The Standard India. These employees were previously part of Allstate India Private Limited and moved following The Standard’s acquisition of Allstate’s Employer Voluntary Benefits business on April 1, 2025. The expansion is expected to enhance operational efficiency and accelerate delivery of high-value technology and business functions.
The Standard has also appointed Mohua Sengupta as Senior Vice President and Country Head – India. With nearly 30 years of experience across banking, financial services, and information technology, she brings extensive leadership expertise. Sengupta has previously served in senior roles at several global organisations, including major IT and financial services companies, and also headed the India GCC for a leading multinational corporation.
In her new role, Sengupta will oversee operations across both Indian centres, managing finance, compliance, regulatory responsibilities, and overall people operations. She will lead the company’s growing workforce in India and ensure alignment with The Standard’s global objectives. The leadership appointment is expected to strengthen the organisation’s operational capabilities and help build a strong and collaborative work culture.
Executives at The Standard highlighted that the new GCC will tap into India’s deep and diverse talent pool, enabling the company to deliver scalable, high-quality solutions for customers worldwide. The India centre will also support the company’s digital transformation roadmap by driving innovation, technology development, and process optimisation.
By establishing StanCorp Global Services India, The Standard aims to expand its global footprint, enhance customer support functions, and create a more efficient operating model. The new GCC is designed to play a strategic role in the company’s future growth, leveraging India’s expertise in technology and business services.
