Bengaluru: US retail major 7-Eleven has significantly expanded its Global Solution Centre (GSC) in Bengaluru—its only such hub worldwide—by adding 232,090 square feet of office space, according to information shared by the company. The expansion increases the centre’s overall footprint and introduces new functional areas, including a mock store environment designed to support employee experience and training. This expansion reinforces the city’s dominance in the corporate landscape, especially as Bengaluru remains the “GCC Valley of the World” with the highest concentration of global capability centres in India.
Scope of the Expansion
The newly added space broadens the GSC into a larger, integrated workplace that supports multiple teams working across technology, operations, analytics, and business support functions. The inclusion of a mock store setup is aimed at simulating real-world retail environments for internal teams, enabling hands-on testing and process development within the office campus.
The Bengaluru GSC serves as 7-Eleven’s global back-end and digital enablement hub, supporting its international operations. With the latest expansion, the company has reinforced the centre’s role in product development, platform support, and process optimisation across markets.
Why Bengaluru
Bengaluru continues to attract multinational companies for global capability centres (GCCs) due to its large talent pool, established technology ecosystem, and mature office infrastructure. Over the past few years, the city has seen sustained demand from global retailers, technology firms, and financial services companies for large, scalable office spaces.
7-Eleven’s decision to expand its only GSC in Bengaluru aligns with this broader trend of consolidating global support and digital operations in the city.
Real Estate and Office Market Impact
From a commercial real estate perspective, the addition of over 232,000 sq ft of office space reflects continued demand for large-format, Grade-A workspaces in Bengaluru. Such expansions typically benefit office corridors that host global capability centres, contributing to higher absorption levels and supporting steady leasing activity.
From a commercial real estate perspective, the addition of over 2.3 lakh sq ft reflects the strong demand for Grade-A workspaces. Major tech hubs like North Bengaluru are seeing proposed redevelopments at Manyata Tech Park to accommodate such large-format requirements.
This move also underlines the importance of experience-led office design. Facilities like mock stores and wellness zones are becoming standard in modern corporate campuses, influencing how top developers in the city plan their future commercial projects. For areas bordering tech hubs, like Hoskote (dubbed “Neo-Whitefield”), these expansions drive secondary residential and commercial demand.
The move also underlines the importance of experience-led office design, with facilities such as mock stores, collaboration zones, and training environments becoming part of modern corporate campuses. This trend is increasingly influencing how developers and landlords plan new office projects in the city.
Broader Industry Context
Global retailers and consumer brands are increasingly centralising technology, analytics, and operations support in India through GCCs. Bengaluru remains a preferred destination for these investments due to its connectivity, skilled workforce, and depth of commercial real estate supply.
With this expansion, 7-Eleven joins a growing list of multinational companies scaling up their India operations through larger, more integrated office campuses.
