The Delhi Development Authority has announced plans to e-auction more than 150 land parcels and commercial sites across the national capital as part of its strategy to enhance revenue through asset monetisation. The proposed e-auction includes a mix of residential, commercial, institutional, industrial and group housing plots, along with select hospitality and food service properties such as the café facility at Baansera.
The decision was announced during the authority’s foundation day event and reflects renewed momentum in releasing vacant and underutilised land assets. The e-auction process is expected to attract interest from developers, investors and businesses looking to establish a presence in key locations across Delhi. According to officials, all sites offered in the auction are free from legal disputes and are located in developed or developing areas of the city.
Registrations for the e-auction will begin from December 30, while the final date for submission of applications and earnest money deposits has been fixed as January 27. Detailed auction schedules, property specifications and bidding terms will be shared with registered participants ahead of the bidding process. The entire auction will be conducted online to ensure transparency and wider participation.
The portfolio of properties includes around 30 residential plots located in areas such as Rohini and Rajendra Nagar, 41 commercial plots suitable for retail and office use, and 14 industrial plots aimed at manufacturing and logistics activities. In addition, 20 institutional plots have been identified for use by educational, healthcare and organisational establishments. Two group housing plots in Dwarka have also been included, offering potential for residential development.
Among the non-land assets, the café at Baansera and other food kiosks and court spaces will be auctioned on a licence basis, providing opportunities for hospitality operators. These offerings are expected to generate recurring revenue while supporting recreational and public spaces in the city.
The resumption of large-scale auctions follows a slowdown in recent years due to regulatory and compliance-related delays. With this move, the authority aims to strengthen its financial position while supporting planned urban development. The initiative is also expected to contribute to increased economic activity and improved utilisation of land resources across Delhi
