Hyderabad has overtaken Bengaluru to become India’s top destination for Global Capability Centres (GCCs) in 2025, according to a study by UnearthInsights. The city accounted for 46% of all new GCCs set up between January and November 2025, while Bengaluru captured 33% during the same period. This shift highlights Hyderabad’s rapid rise as a preferred hub for multinational corporations expanding technology, analytics, R&D and shared-services operations in India.
Industry experts attribute Hyderabad’s growth to a combination of cost advantage, enhanced infrastructure, stable governance and a business-friendly environment. The city’s established IT corridors, strong talent pool, and proactive state policies have continued to attract large global enterprises planning long-term technology and engineering operations in India.
Across India, 85–95 new GCCs were established during the January–November 2025 period, while 60+ companies entered the GCC ecosystem for the first time and 25+ existing GCCs expanded their operations. Apart from Hyderabad and Bengaluru, other key contributing cities included Pune (5+ new GCCs), Chennai (5+), Mumbai (2+), Ahmedabad (2+), and Delhi-NCR (3+), indicating a broader geographic spread of GCC investments.
Some of the global companies that set up or expanded their GCCs in India this year include Vanguard, StarRez, T-Mobile, Goodyear, and several others, reflecting the country’s continued appeal as a global technology and innovation centre.
While Bengaluru remains one of the most mature GCC hubs with strong ecosystem depth, Hyderabad’s accelerated growth has pushed it to the top position in net new GCC additions for 2025. The trend suggests increasing diversification of GCC locations as companies look beyond traditional hubs for scalability and cost efficiencies.
With demand from sectors such as automotive engineering, BFSI, cybersecurity, semiconductor design and digital transformation on the rise, India’s GCC market is expected to maintain strong momentum in 2026 as well.
