Bengaluru is set to get smoother roads as the Karnataka government announced a ₹1,100 crore fund to repair and upgrade city streets. Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar stated that each of the 14 assembly constituencies in Bengaluru will receive ₹50 crore, while other areas will get ₹25 crore each. The funding will be used to fix potholes, strengthen road surfaces, and improve overall traffic infrastructure.
This major initiative is part of the state government’s ongoing effort to enhance urban infrastructure and ensure safer, more reliable travel for Bengaluru’s commuters. With the new allocation, residents can expect significant improvements in road quality over the coming months.
Officials also emphasized that the project will include strict monitoring of road construction quality, timely maintenance schedules, and the use of durable materials to prevent recurring damage. Authorities hope these measures will not only reduce traffic disruptions but also extend the lifespan of Bengaluru’s roads, benefiting both daily commuters and commercial transport.
