The Dahisar toll plaza on the Mumbai–Ahmedabad highway is set to shift 2 km north, providing much-needed relief to commuters traveling through Mira–Bhayandar. The relocation aims to reduce traffic congestion, cut down waiting times, and improve the overall travel experience for daily commuters.
The new tolling system will also see revised charges. While smaller vehicles are exempt at several points in Mumbai, new levies will apply at the relocated Dahisar plaza. The move is expected to streamline traffic flow and enhance connectivity between Mumbai and its northern suburbs.
According to officials, the relocation is part of a larger strategy to decongest busy entry and exit points to the city. The shift will not only ease pressure on local roads but also support smoother interstate traffic along the Mumbai–Ahmedabad corridor. Improved traffic management at the new location is expected to reduce long queues during peak hours.
The relocation comes at a time when the region is witnessing rapid infrastructure growth, including new metro lines, elevated road projects, and the proposed coastal road expansion. These developments are anticipated to boost overall connectivity in Mira–Bhayandar and surrounding areas.
With thousands of vehicles crossing the corridor daily, the new location of the Dahisar toll plaza is set to improve travel efficiency, reduce commute times, and contribute to better traffic distribution across Mumbai’s northern growth belt.
