Bengaluru: Sobha Limited’s much-anticipated large-scale residential township planned in Hoskote, East Bengaluru, is likely to be branded as “Sobha World City,” according to market sources familiar with the development. While the company has not yet made an official announcement, early planning references and internal branding cues indicate that the Hoskote project may adopt the Sobha World City identity.

The proposed development, informally referred to as Sobha Hoskote, is planned across an initial 48-acre phase, forming part of a much larger ~300-acre master-planned township. If confirmed, Sobha World City would become one of the largest integrated urban developments undertaken by the developer in Bengaluru, marking a significant expansion of its township portfolio.

Industry observers note that the “World City” branding aligns with Sobha’s broader vision of creating mixed-use, self-sustained urban ecosystems, combining high-rise residential towers, commercial spaces, retail zones, and large-format green infrastructure within a single master plan. Similar naming conventions have been used globally to denote large, city-scale developments rather than standalone residential projects.

The Hoskote township is expected to feature tallest towers in bengaluru, potentially rising beyond 50 floors, a scale that remains relatively uncommon in Bengaluru’s residential market. The project is planned to offer multiple apartment configurations, catering to both end-users and long-term investors, with an emphasis on integrated amenities and internal infrastructure.

Hoskote has emerged as a key eastern growth corridor for Bengaluru, driven by infrastructure upgrades such as the Bangalore–Chennai Expressway, the Satellite Town Ring Road (STRR), and proposed public transport expansions. The entry of a branded, township-scale development by Sobha is widely seen as a signal of long-term confidence in the micro-market’s growth trajectory.

At present, Sobha Limited has not released official details regarding the project name, launch timeline, pricing, or regulatory approvals. Market experts advise prospective buyers and investors to rely only on formally disclosed information and RERA filings once available, as project branding and specifications may evolve prior to launch.

Further clarity is expected in the coming months as the developer progresses toward formal approvals and public announcements.
