Mumbai, India: Ramky Infrastructure Ltd. has secured a ₹1,401 crore Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) contract from Maharashtra Industrial Township Limited (MITL) for infrastructure development at the Dighi Port Industrial Area (DPIA) in Maharashtra. The project forms part of the larger Delhi–Mumbai Industrial Corridor (DMIC) initiative aimed at boosting industrial and logistics infrastructure across western India.
The contract involves the development of key infrastructure components required for industrial growth within the township area, supporting the broader goal of transforming the region into a manufacturing and logistics hub.
Scope of Infrastructure Development
Under the agreement, Ramky Infrastructure will undertake design, construction, testing, commissioning, and maintenance of infrastructure works at DPIA Phase I. The project scope includes building road networks, stormwater drainage systems, water supply and treatment facilities, sewerage networks, recycled water distribution systems, and power distribution infrastructure within the industrial area.
The company will also provide operations and maintenance services for four years after the project becomes operational. The construction phase is expected to be completed within 930 days from the appointed date, according to the company’s regulatory filing.
Industrial Corridor Development
The Dighi Port Industrial Area is being developed by Maharashtra Industrial Township Limited, a special purpose vehicle formed with equity participation from the Government of India and the Government of Maharashtra.
The project is part of the Delhi–Mumbai Industrial Corridor, a major national infrastructure initiative designed to create integrated industrial zones, improve logistics connectivity, and attract domestic and international investments.
Real Estate and Infrastructure Impact
Large-scale infrastructure contracts such as this play a significant role in supporting industrial real estate development across emerging economic corridors. Industrial townships and logistics parks often lead to increased demand for commercial spaces, warehousing facilities, and residential developments in surrounding areas.
The Dighi Port Industrial Area is expected to facilitate industrial expansion in the Raigad district of Maharashtra, potentially encouraging investment in manufacturing clusters, supply chain infrastructure, and urban development in the region.
As infrastructure projects linked to the DMIC continue to progress, they are expected to strengthen India’s industrial ecosystem and support long-term economic growth.
