The Delhi Development Authority’s Karmayogi Awaas Yojana has recorded a strong initial response, with around 60 per cent of the flats offered under the scheme being booked within the first 24 hours of its launch. The scheme, introduced to provide residential options for government employees, reflects sustained demand for organised and affordable housing in Delhi NCR.

Launched on January 14, 2026, the housing initiative opened bookings for a total of 684 residential units located in Narela. According to official data, more than half of the available inventory was subscribed on the first day itself through the DDA’s online booking system. The response highlights growing confidence among buyers in government-led housing projects offering ready-to-move-in homes.

Officials indicated that the early bookings are expected to generate an estimated revenue of about ₹450 crore for the authority. One-bedroom flats saw particularly high demand and were among the fastest to be booked, while two-bedroom units also contributed significantly to the overall sales value. The transparent and fully digital application process played a key role in enabling smooth access for eligible applicants.

The Karmayogi Awaas Yojana is primarily aimed at central and state government employees, public sector undertaking staff, autonomous body employees and other eligible government personnel seeking planned residential housing within the national capital region. The booking window for the scheme will remain open until March 31, 2026, allowing additional applicants to participate over the coming weeks.

Real estate observers note that improved infrastructure and better connectivity in Narela have helped boost buyer interest. Ongoing road development projects and proposed metro connectivity are expected to further enhance the area’s residential appeal, supporting long-term demand for housing in the region.

The early success of the Karmayogi Awaas Yojana underlines the continued relevance of structured government housing schemes in addressing urban residential needs. With a significant portion of the inventory already booked, the scheme reinforces the demand for affordable, well-planned housing backed by public authorities in Delhi NCR’s evolving real estate landscape.
