Trump Media and Technology Group has announced plans to invest up to Rs 1 lakh crore in Telangana’s proposed Future City project, marking one of the largest foreign investment commitments to an urban development initiative in India. The announcement was made during the Telangana Rising Global Summit 2025 and highlights the state’s ambition to position Future City as a globally competitive urban and real estate hub.

Future City, also known as Bharat Future City, is a large-scale planned urban development spread across approximately 765 square kilometres along the Hyderabad–Bengaluru corridor. Located on the southern outskirts of Hyderabad between the Srisailam and Nagarjunasagar highways, the project is envisioned as a self-sustained city integrating residential, commercial, industrial, and social infrastructure within a single master plan. The initiative is designed to reduce congestion in existing urban centres while supporting long-term economic expansion.

The Telangana government has outlined plans to equip the region with high-speed road networks, expanded rail and metro connectivity, dedicated power and water supply systems, and advanced digital infrastructure. The city is expected to support key growth sectors such as semiconductors, electric vehicles, clean energy, artificial intelligence, data centres, life sciences, and advanced manufacturing. Officials have stated that the project aims to attract both domestic and international investors across multiple industries.

According to representatives of Trump Media, the proposed Rs 1 lakh crore investment will be deployed in phases over the next decade. The focus areas are expected to include mixed-use real estate development, smart city infrastructure, technology parks, and media-related facilities. While detailed project timelines and land allocations are yet to be disclosed, the investment signals strong global interest in Telangana’s long-term urban planning strategy.

Real estate analysts indicate that the development of Future City could unlock fresh demand across residential, office, industrial, and logistics segments. It is also expected to ease development pressure on established business districts in Hyderabad by creating a new growth corridor. Industry estimates suggest that the overall project could attract investments worth Rs 1.6 to Rs 2.5 lakh crore over the next two decades through a combination of public spending and private participation.
