The Karnataka Housing Board (KHB) has secured cabinet approval to proceed with an integrated township on 43 acres in Chikkajala, Yelahanka, through a public-private partnership (PPP) model. The project, estimated at ₹2,930 crore, will feature residential buildings, commercial spaces, offices, and a star hotel. About ₹1,252 crore in revenue is projected for KHB, with no additional investment required beyond land sharing.

The township’s path began 23 years ago, when KHB acquired 95 acres across parts of Chikkajala and Meenukunte. Legal challenges followed, but landowners of 43 acres withdrew lawsuits after consenting to a 50:50 land-sharing arrangement. This cleared parcel now forms the basis of development, while the remaining 52 acres remain under legal review.

While cabinet approval is in place, the project requires further clearances before construction can begin. Approval must come from the Bengaluru International Airport Area Planning Authority (BIAAPA), and development must be executed in partnership with private developers of repute.
