Mahindra Lifespaces Developers Ltd (MLDL) has been selected to lead the redevelopment of two housing societies in Chembur, Mumbai, with a combined development potential of ₹1,700 crore. The projects cover land parcels of approximately 2.6 acres and 1.8 acres.
The redevelopment plans include building modern, sustainable residential homes with upgraded amenities and improved connectivity. The sites are just 1.5 km from the Eastern Freeway and will benefit from nearby infrastructure including the upcoming Diamond Garden Metro Station (Line 2), existing Monorail, and railway networks. Key commercial hubs like BKC and Powai are within easy reach.
These Chembur projects add to MLDL’s expanding redevelopment portfolio in Mumbai. Recent notable additions include a Mulund (West) redevelopment deal worth ~₹1,250 crore, and other high-value projects in Lokhandwala, Andheri West, and Mahalaxmi.
The redevelopment market in Mumbai is growing rapidly. Knight Frank data reports that across the MCGM region, society redevelopment projects are expected to deliver 44,277 new homes by 2030, with free-sale components worth approximately ₹1.31 trillion.
