In a significant real estate transaction in Mumbai, Subhra Sen, mother of actor Sushmita Sen, has purchased two premium apartments in the upscale residential project Elysian by Oberoi Realty in Goregaon East. The combined value of the two units stands at ₹16.89 crore, marking one of the notable high-value registrations recorded in November.
Both apartments are identical in configuration and feature a RERA carpet area of 163.59 square metres, roughly translating to about 1,760 square feet per unit. Each apartment also includes one dedicated parking slot. The first apartment was purchased for ₹8.40 crore, while the second was acquired for ₹8.49 crore. The registrations were completed with stamp duties of ₹42.02 lakh and ₹42.49 lakh respectively, along with standard registration charges.
Data from official registration records indicates that Elysian, a prominent residential tower in Oberoi Garden City, has already seen more than 170 sale registrations, with total transaction values crossing ₹1,700 crore. The project continues to attract luxury home buyers seeking premium amenities, modern living spaces and strong brand reliability offered by Oberoi Realty.
Goregaon East, where the project is located, has grown into one of Mumbai’s most sought-after real estate micro-markets. The area benefits from excellent connectivity through the Western Express Highway, the Jogeshwari–Vikhroli Link Road, and the suburban railway network. Proximity to key commercial hubs such as Andheri, Powai, the International Airport and the Bandra Kurla Complex has further boosted housing demand in this region.
The ongoing infrastructure development, including metro expansions and proposed road links, has strengthened buyer confidence and enhanced the appeal of luxury developments. High-value purchases like this reflect the sustained interest in Mumbai’s premium residential segment, especially in well-planned integrated townships.
Subhra Sen’s acquisition adds to the list of notable investments in the city’s luxury housing category, underlining the continued momentum in Mumbai’s real estate market as demand for spacious, high-quality homes remains strong.
