The Telangana Housing Board has launched the sale of affordable Low Income Group flats across Hyderabad and other cities in the state, offering an opportunity for eligible residents to own homes at prices lower than prevailing market rates. A total of 339 one-bedroom flats have been made available under this initiative, spread across Hyderabad, Warangal and Khammam.

In Hyderabad, 111 flats are located in Gachibowli, a prominent residential and IT corridor. Warangal has been allotted 102 flats near the railway station, while 126 flats are available at Sriram Hills in Khammam. The flats are aimed at buyers falling under the Low Income Group category and are intended to improve access to formal housing for households with limited income.

Eligibility for the scheme is restricted to applicants with an annual income of up to ₹6 lakh. Interested buyers are required to submit their applications through the Telangana Housing Board’s official channels or authorised service centres. The application window remains open until January 3, 2026, allowing sufficient time for eligible applicants to participate in the process.

The flats range in size from approximately 450 square feet to 650 square feet, catering to basic residential requirements. Prices vary depending on location. In Gachibowli, the cost of flats ranges between ₹26 lakh and ₹36.20 lakh. In Warangal, prices are between ₹19 lakh and ₹21.5 lakh, while in Khammam, units are available starting at around ₹11.25 lakh. These rates are positioned below comparable private market housing options in the respective locations.

Allotment of the flats will be conducted through a lottery system to ensure transparency and fairness. The lottery for Gachibowli flats is scheduled for January 6, 2026, followed by Warangal on January 8, 2026, and Khammam on January 10, 2026. Successful applicants will be informed through official communication channels, after which further steps related to payment and documentation will be shared.

The housing board’s move aligns with ongoing efforts to increase the supply of affordable housing in urban and semi-urban areas, supporting planned development and broader homeownership access in Telangana.
